A few years ago, I had an unforgettable animal encounter exploring Wilsons Promontory, at the southernmost tip of Australia, spotting a rare white wombat having a wash on the beach. This magical, unexpected moment inspired me to write White Wombat Wants a Wash and encourage children and families to step away from screens, get outdoors, explore the wilderness and create their own wonderful adventures and memories.
